The higher of Official US Chess OTB or Online Regular ratings will be used for pairings and eligibility. Other ratings may be used as described in The Official Rules of Chess, 7th Edition. The decision of the chief tournament director regarding player or team eligibility, rating adjustments, unofficial ratings, or similar issues is final.
Unrated players are not eligible for 1st prize in Reserve Sections.
6 Round US Chess Online Rated Swiss System Tournament
- Swiss Tournament format means no eliminations
- US Chess Online Rated, new players will have a rating after this event
- Team score in each section is the total of the 3 best scores by team members.
Team awards are secondary to individual awards and team members may be paired with each other. - You must be logged on to chess.vegas/play 1/2 hour before each round begins or you will not be paired.
- Fair Play rules will be strictly enforced.
Time Control
Open & Premier Sections: Game/45 + 10 second increment.
Each player starts with 45 minutes and 10 seconds are added after each move.
Reserve Sections: Game/15 + 5 second increment.
Each player starts with 15 minutes and 5 seconds are added after each move.
Entry Fees
ENTER NOW! $29 by 5 p.m. PDT Sunday September 27, $49 by 5 p.m. Wednesday September 30, $59 later.
$20 more for player not rated above 1600 playing in the Open Section.
Registration closes 5 p.m. PDT on Friday October 2nd. Refunds are subject to a $15 service charge.
Membership in the U.S. Chess Federation is required of all players. You may join with your entry. A 2-month Internet Chess Club membership is included in your entry fee.

Byes
Sometimes a player must skip a round. 1/2 Point Byes are available in any round (limit 2) if requested with registration. A player with a bye receives 1/2 point for the unplayed game. Once requested a bye cannot be removed.
